Dr Gescuk
Dr Bryan Gescuk grew up in rural Ohio in humble circumstances. He excelled in sports and played football and baseball. He attended Harvard University where he played football there for four years while receiving his BA in Psychology. He then attended Boston University School of Medicine where he received his PhD in Pharmacology and then his Medical degree in 1996. He was voted Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He went on to specialize in Rheumatology and did his Internship & Residency at UC San Francisco followed by his Fellowship in Rheumatology there. It was during this Fellowship in Rheumatology that Dr Gescuk met Dr Stevens who was one of his Attending physicians in the UCSF Rheumatology Clinic.
Dr Gescuk spent time working as a Biotech Consultant and on the Scientific Advisory Board for the Genaissance Capital Group from 1998 – 2003. He maintained his affiliation with UCSF as an Assistant Clinical Professor from 2002 – 2005.
In 2002, he began working at the San Mateo Medical Center (formerly Chope Hospital) in San Mateo. He continues to work there now as Chief of Staff as well as Chief of Rheumatology. In late 2017, Dr Gescuk joined Dr Stevens at San Mateo Rheumatology where he divides his time seeing patients in our office as well as patients at the San Mateo Medical Center.
Dr Gescuk has received many honors and awards and he is well respected by his peers and patients alike. The staff here enjoys his friendly and good natured manner and his infectious laugh. He has been a wonderful asset to our Practice.
Dr Gescuk is married to an attorney and has one daughter. He loves sports, writing, reading, cooking, working-out and trips to the Napa Valley.
